"Spaceship" Re-Release

Sup,

Today I re-released one of my all time favorite songs. Pharoah Freed & myself put this together a couple of years ago but didn't really get it out there like we should so I'm doing it again now. At the time when this song was made I was really going through it and you can immediately tell from first bar to last. The Concorde was in the process of getting reposessed, a son to feed, bills OVERDUE, skipping lunch so I could have money for dinner. I really wanted to hop in a spaceship & just leave this earth! Looking back on it all I smile and feel truly blessed to be better off and still standing. From an artistic standpoint I feel that we truly captured a snapshot of time & raw emotion. I hope to keep putting out really good music that can evoke the type of emotions that "Spaceship" does. In a genre as saturated as Hip Hop, and in a city as rich with artists as Atlanta Georgia, it quickly becomes almost impossible to find where true talent resides. There is a majority that are consumed with attaining fame, fortune and fitting in. There is also a minority that focus on their creativity, legacy, and setting trends. Yayra Picasso is one of that minority and once you hear a couple of bars of his music you immediately know that he is the real deal. His new single, What Ya Like, is a lyrical, technical, and melodic masterpiece that signal the arrival of pure talent and artistry.

Born in Mobile Alabama, and raised in Decatur Georgia, Yayra took a strong interest in Hip Hop around age 11. He explains "I can remember being in fifth grade, asking the older guys to dub their rap tapes because I was too young to buy them." "I listened to 3 6 mafia in secret, and quietly freestyled to the tracks." But it wasn't until his senior year of high school that he started writing songs. "I freestyled for a long time but began actually putting it all together and making songs around 18."

Influenced by artists from Tennesse, Atlanta, East, and West coasts, Yayra took a strong interest in a few. "I loved the raw energy of the Memphis scene, 3 6 Mafia, Playa Fly, Eightball & MJG, and Tommy Wright III." "Tupac, Biggie, Outkast, Jay-Z, NWA, Snoop Dog, Eminem and Twista were huge influences as well and you can tell in elements of my music." That raw energy which he calls "soul" is what he strives to convey. "Music should evoke emotion and if it does not it is just noise."

As he and his talent matured he recorded songs and performed with various artists around Atlanta. Most notable of these songs are his singles "Go Hard" and "Change Up".

Yayra is currently in Atlanta working on his album titled "Unconcious". Yayra Picasso's style can be described as hard hitting, fast, soulful, technically clever, and refreshingly unique. His sound is one of a kind and his songs make you put them on repeat.
